The press service of the Central Partnership film company presented updated data on the comedy released on December 26, 2019 “Serf” from the director Klima Shipenko (“Text”, “Salute-7”)
As of January 20, 2023, with a cash register of 2.65 billion rubles, the comedy bypassed the general fees of the record holders of the Russian hire of 2019 – films The Lion King (2.63 billion rubles) and Avengers Final (2.6 billion rubles). In terms of fees, Klima Shipenko’s tape took third place among all projects in the history of domestic rental, losing only Avatar (3.51 billion rubles) and Upward Movement (2.96 billion rubles).
“Serf” also shows good results not only in Russia – the international film fees exceeded $ 1 million. The comedy attracted most viewers in Germany, where the film became the highest grossing Russian film to be released in German distribution.
“Serf” talks about Major Grisha – the son of a wealthy businessman whose behavior brings his father to white heat. In an attempt to correct the child, along with a psychologist friend, Dad comes up with a unique project: on the basis of an abandoned village, the atmosphere of Russia of the 19th century is recreated; Grisha gets into a rigged accident and is allegedly transferred to the past. Heroes expect to fix Grisha, but in the end, everything is not going according to plan.
