Chinese company Zhaoxin previously introduced its own x86 processors for the domestic market, after which their tests appeared. Now it is reported that she is also preparing branded GPUs, as well as video cards based on them. The company told about this in a video that was posted on the updated Zhaoxin website, although then the video was deleted.
From the video, it turned out that it was planned to begin production of 28-nanometer chips with a heat package of 70 watts. Will be engaged in production TSMC.
New solutions will appear on the market before the end of the year, although it is not yet clear how powerful they will be. Note that Zhaoxin already has integrated graphics solutions that are not integrated into the processor, but into the chipset. They support DX11, OpenCL 1.1, OpenGL 3.2, hardware acceleration of video encoding and decoding.
It is assumed that the new GPUs will be faster than the “built-in”, and also allow the company to expand its presence in the market. Of course, if this is not prevented by new US sanctions.
