The message of the founder leaked on the social network Xsolla Alexander Agapitov, where he announced the layoff of 150 employees based on Big Data analysis of their activity in work chats and applications.

Those whom the system chose, the head of the company called “uninvolved and unproductive.”

“Xsolla, like any other company, is a living organism that needs to be constantly on the move in order to survive and become better than its competitors. In the current market conditions, we do not want and will not hinder the development of our projects.

However, sometimes difficult, unpopular measures have to be taken to keep moving. We want all our employees to think every day about how their actions and decisions affect the fate of the company and its success, because for the coming years we have very ambitious goals – this is one of the key values of Xsolla, it is reflected in everything: operating standard to a compensation system.

I am grateful to all the employees who have contributed to the development of Xsolla, and it is very painful for me to part with each of them. The incident caused a violent reaction on the network – the incident is called a manifestation of unprofessionalism, and some experts advise to sue the company for surveillance.

The “passive-aggressive” tone of the letter was criticized, as well as the very fact of surveillance – why the success of an employee is measured not by the results of his work, but by the activity in work applications.
