XPG BATTLEGROUND XL PRIME gaming mousepad review

One of the most exciting products in the gaming peripherals lineup XPG is a desktop mat BATTLEGROUND XL PRIME… At first, we were skeptical about the idea of a huge rug, but after trying it, we realized that this thing definitely deserves attention.

The mat is delivered in a cardboard box rolled up. The packaging is nothing out of the ordinary – familiar design. Includes only cable and user manual. The size of the rug is 900 x 420 mm.

Why do you need a cable? It’s simple: the mat has a backlight function. By connecting it to a PC or just to a power outlet, you can use the button to select the color of the outline illumination. It looks very impressive, and in complete darkness it seems that the rug is floating in space. A seemingly simple little thing really adds a little more fun and immersion while playing games.

The carpet cover pleasantly surprised me. It is multi-layered: one layer of rubber firmly clings to the table, and the second is a unique material (it feels like a cross between plastic and fabric, which has absorbed the best qualities from these two types of coatings). The mouse glides perfectly over the entire surface of the BATTLEGROUND XL PRIME, it is very easy to clean with a damp cloth from dust and does not get wet, while the material is soft – like a rag.

Earlier, I met either hard plastic plates on which the mouse slid so much that it was almost impossible to work on such a rug, since the cursor constantly missed the interface elements, or there were fabric rugs. It was pleasant to play and work on these, the mouse slid a little worse, but for work it was a good option. However, fabric rugs had serious durability issues. Especially black rugs. They rub off, there are traces of dirt on them if you wipe them with damp wipes, so they required washing, you had to wait until they dry.

The XPG rug is devoid of all these drawbacks – the CORDURA coating has absolutely not lost its presentation after a month of use – it is easy to care for, and it is ideal for both work and play.

During use, I have identified only one drawback. The LED edge on the sides of the hand can unpleasantly dig into the forearm in a certain position.

The XPG BATTLEGROUND XL PRIME rug fully justifies its price of 5,190 rubles, as it significantly increases the comfort of using a computer, whether it be work or play. The feeling of using the mouse comfortably over the entire surface of the table is very interesting.
