World of Warcraft director talks about Shadowlands – review

Coronavirus pandemic dispersed all state Blizzard home, and from there the main representatives of the studio make visits to streamers. Director World of warcraft Yon Hazzikostas has already visited several broadcasts, and now has looked at the Spaniards: on the portal Wowchakra.

Much of what Hazzikostas told is already known to us from previous speeches. But work on the addition Shadowlands progressing, and some points have already been more or less defined, so the director of the game spoke about them.

The first changes are already shown in the alpha version of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, and not all of them are concentrated in the Dark Lands. Training capitals appeared in the capitals: new characters get here after passing the introductory adventure.

According to Hazzikostas, class teachers settled here not by chance: they want to return meaning and significance to them. They will probably help to choose a specialization – in the redone pumping system up to level 10, we play for the “class in general” and only then can we choose the path.

Soon, the traditional assignment table should appear in the alpha version. They are also going to remodel and improve it: the developers want their teammates’ missions to display the local combat system.

Shadowlands will change the system for obtaining legendary items. Each character will be able to wear only one legend, and you can approach her receipt with all the zeal. It will not be delivered in finished form, it must be created.

Legendary effects are added to existing equipment items, but not to any: first, the artisan must craft an item from materials collected in the Dark Lands. Thanks to this, it will make sense to master the profession of a tanner, tailor, and blacksmith.

Most recipes of the legendary effects are going to be shared by the entire account, so the process of obtaining the legendary for twins will not take years. But this will not affect the specific effects inherent only in certain classes or specializations.

As for PvP, there will still be no unique PvP sets and characteristics, the equipment should be universal. But participation in the opposition of the factions will bring tokens that will allow you to exchange for the necessary items.

The Shadowlands plan to equip free PvP zones, as in the Legion. The developers are also thinking about some kind of confrontation between the covenants: according to mythology, they are not enemies, but in some aspects they could compete.

As for Torgast, the work on it is still in its early stages. In particular, in the alpha version on the floors above 12 there appeared “torture of the Jailer”: players get a negative effect, which becomes stronger with time. And the higher the floor, the faster the strength of the effect grows.

According to Hazzikostas, the main thing in Torgast is balance. Players who have gathered strong anima effects may feel that it’s easier with each floor, and this is not included in the plans. The races in Torgast should not be many hours of hiking.

The director of World of Warcraft said that the preliminary patch of Shadowlands will begin to be prepared only when the main work on the add-on is completed. In the meantime, to brighten up the expectation, the company can add something to “Battle of Azeroth“.

In particular, the reputation bonus is about to end. They want to replace him with something that will allow laggards and twins to quickly catch up on “Visions of N’Zoth“. The announcement of the new action should be announced very soon.
