It was originally planned that these and other products will remain without updates from May 12, but now the deadline has been shifted to November 10. This is done in the name of maintaining the stable operation of systems around the world. Given that many work remotely, this seems like a reasonable solution.
In addition to the above products, support will be extended for Configuration Manager (1810), SharePoint Foundation 2010, and Project Server 2010. But Office 2010, Project 2010, and Office 2013 have not yet been included in the list.
An extended support period means another six months of security patches for legacy solutions. And this will also reduce the load on the network, since IT specialists will not have to rush to update a bunch of computers to the latest version of the OS.
