William Shetner is not going to return to the role of captain Kirk – review

The role of captain Kirk in the original Star Trek William Shetner said that he was not going to return to the image of the legendary character.

Against the background of the series Star Trek: Picard, which tells about the later years of the hero’s life, the fan decided to ask Shatner about his participation in such a project. The actor answered the offer in the negative.

According to Shetner, “Kirk’s story has already outlived itself.” He added that his opinion on returns has not changed in recent years. And he will not engage in cameo out of principle, as before.

In addition, according to Shetner, Kirk’s story has already been fully revealed, and there’s nothing to supplement it with. The character’s path ended in the feature film Generations, where Kirk, among other things, crossed paths with Picard.

Last year, the actor stated that he was interested in the Quentin Tarantino project, which should have an adult rating. However, the fate of this picture, as well as the film direction of the franchise, still remains rather vague.
