Wii U unexpectedly received a fresh firmware update four years after Nintendo ceased production of the console.
According to the official description, the 5.5.5 update improves stability and usability. how found out dataminers, the patch affected SSL certificates that allow the browser to connect to secure sites.
Recall that the Wii U was released at the end of 2012, but at the beginning of 2017, Nintendo ceased production of the console. Total sales reached only 13.56 million devices.
The previous Wii U firmware update came out in June 2019 and also improved system stability.
