Long-suffering Dead island 2 was announced back in 2014 at a media briefing Sony in the framework of the June exhibition E3 2014, but after that the publishers managed to change the developers several times. Originally planned to transfer the development of the game Techland (authors of the original Dead island and continuation Dead Island: Riptide), but the Polish studio eventually decided to switch to production Dying light. The creation of the action movie was first dealt with by the German Yager development (Spec Ops: The Line), and later the British team Sumo digital.
