In general, in the first five months of 2023, 22% more devices were sold than a year earlier.
But back to May – in the last month, most often bought the PlayStation 5, the supply of which began to grow. Sony is followed by the Xbox Series, followed by the Nintendo Switch. Compared to last year, sales of the hybrid console have declined. However, since 2019 they have grown by 60%.
In total, 2.1 million games were sold in the United Kingdom in May (both figures and physical media are taken into account), which is 39% less than last year. Most of these games, 1.2 million, were digital platforms.
The most successful game in May was Resident Evil: Village, sales of which almost doubled the level Mass Effect: Legendary Edition – the collection is in second place. At the same time, 43% of copies of horror were on PS5, 31% on Xbox, 15% on PS4, and 11% on PC.
