Viggo Mortensen explains why he turned down the role of Wolverine in X-Men

Viggo Mortensen told about the reasons why he once turned down the role Wolverines in “X-Men”

According to the actor, when he met with the director Brian Singer, then worried that he might get stuck in one image, playing the character for many years. In addition, the tape had problems with the script, which Mortensen’s son pointed out.

The latter read the plot and noticed that “everything is not so” here, but in the original the story developed differently.

Singer asked the child if he was really familiar with the image of Logan from the comics, to which he replied in the affirmative and added that there “the character looked different.” And then Singer began to explain why in certain places he departed from the canon.

As a result, Singer did not change his approach, and Mortensen turned down the role, as his son’s doubts were superimposed on his own.
