Recently Hideo Kojima told Japanese edition Livedoor the cancellation of a major project that has been under development for some time. The creator of Metal Gear told reporters that he was depressed, “but such is the industry.”
After completing Death Stranding, Kojima announced that he would like to work on several small projects while simultaneously working on the next “big” game Kojima Productions, which, according to rumors, should become a horror.
Video Games Chronicle sources say the game designer was in talks with Google to create a project for Stadia. What this resulted in is unknown, however, according to journalists, the negotiations were at a very early stage.
Stadia gaming head Jade Raymond visited Kojima Productions in July 2019. Then the Japanese game designer expressed a desire to delve into the “new format of games”, accessible through cloud gaming platforms.
“I think the games will go streaming in the next few years,” Kojima told BBC Newsbeat in November 2019. “Movies, dramas, and games will be broadcast live, and you will enjoy them on your iPad, iPhone, or other device anytime, anywhere.”
Kojima Productions is currently polishing the computer version of Death Stranding and creating yet another project. While it is “in the early stages of planning.”
Death Stranding will be released on PC July 14, 2023.
