Valorant Review | Gamemag

In a few months Riot games spent serious work on finalizing the shooter Valorantpolishing it to perfect condition. In official social networks there was even a message about fixing more than three thousand bugs and a bath of about seven thousand cheaters. And finally, the game got to release.

Changes compared to the beta version affected all aspects of the project. A new Reyna character was added, along with a map that previously taught game mechanics.

Reyna is from Mexico. It can become invisible and limits the field of view of other players through special spheres, entering the zone of action of which the characters are blind for a while.

In the game, all gun icons were replaced with more detailed ones, some new animations were added to the heroes. The character selection menu now contains full-fledged beautiful scenes, rather than pixel images from the beta version.

The interface has also been redesigned. For example, the strip of accumulation of poison in Viper or the icon of abilities in other heroes.

A seasonal subscription has been added to Valorant, which includes cosmetic improvements for the guns and account (avatars, graffiti, statuses). It has two versions – paid and free. In the second case, much less makeup is given.

The game has two currencies: one is bought for money, the second is extracted from a seasonal subscription. You can spend it in the store on skins for weapons.

The gameplay has remained at the same high level. Players are divided into two teams of five people. One team must plant a bomb, and the second to prevent this.

The basis of the gameplay formula was borrowed from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in great detail, down to the physics of the behavior of guns. However, there are differences too. The project has eleven characters, each of which has unique abilities. And this combination makes you pay attention to Valorant.

Abilities, like weapons, are bought before the match. Unlike Overwatch, for the most part they are not lethal and are tactical in nature. If at the start of the beta version of the game the team with the most veterans won CS: GO (because they knew how to shoot very accurately), now more and more often you can meet players who, with mediocre skills in owning guns, gain victory through the competent use of abilities. And in this lies additional excitement, which is supported by a high level of technical performance.
