Up to half of the players in 128-player modes in Battlefield 2042 will be able to replace bots – you won’t be able to disable the feature

Recently it became known that to fill the multiplayer Battlefield 2042 in the game there will be soldiers controlled by artificial intelligence, or more simply bots.

In a commentary for The Verge, the company EA clarified a few points.

First, the bots are not disabled and will only be available in the “Total War” modes for 128 players (“Capture” and “Breakout”)… Players who do not want to fight on the same field with bots will be able to choose other modes, which will be discussed later.

The peak number of AI soldiers is limited to 64, but the matchmaking system is designed in such a way that preference will always be given to real players, so with the maximum filling of the match, there may not be any bots at all, or there will be a minimum number of them.

A solution with bots in the presence of modes for 128 people will keep the servers full and reduce the wait of the players. At the same time, this is no longer a novelty for EA shooters. Bots on network maps were still in Titanfall and Star Wars: Battlefront

The release of Battlefield 2042 will take place October 22nd on Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on Steam, Epic Games Store and Origin.
