UK decides to fight plastic boxes with new tax

The UK authorities have decided to introduce an additional environmental tax, which will affect the entertainment industry. We are talking about a tax on plastic packaging, local media report.

According to the announced plan, from 2023 companies will have to pay a tax of £ 200 per ton of packaging material if less than 30% of the plastic that is to be processed is used in its manufacture.

Note that previously the European division of SEGA decided to completely abandon the use of plastic DVD-boxes in the production of discs for PC-games. Shrink film made of low density polyethylene is used as packaging, and the instruction consists of 100% recycled paper.
