Company today Ubisoft held a meeting with investors, which reported on the financial performance of its work for the year. Compared to the previous reporting period, sales decreased to 1.59 billion euros (-14%). The main drop in performance is due to the lack of major releases and the transfer of several AAA projects, among which Watch dogs legion, Gods & monsters and Rainbow six quarantinefor the next fiscal year.
However, Ubisoft noted that its current franchises remain successful and are showing increased interest due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. and the number of registered users in a cooperative shooter Rainbow six siege reached a value of 60 million. The Siege received record levels of engagement in January, February, and March.
As for the fiscal year that has begun, Ubisoft plans to release five AAA games: Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods & monsters, Rainbow six quarantine and another unannounced project (presumably Far Cry 6). Three of them, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will be released between October and December 2023, and the release of the other two is expected from January to March 2023.
The publisher even presented two scenarios of the possible development of the situation if the influence of the coronavirus persists:
The first scenario assumes operating income of 600 million euros.
- 5 AAA releases;
- Slight effect of coronavirus.
The second scenario assumes an operating income of 400 million euros.
- AAA release, one of which may be released after April 2023;
- More significant effect of coronavirus.
In addition to the above titles, the company still plans to release several more projects: shareware Roller champions, Brawhalla and Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad for mobile platforms.
Ubisoft also noted that PC continues to hold the title of the second most profitable platform for it. In the first place is the PS4.
