Spider-Man Homecoming has taken the world by storm. Delivering one of the best Spidey movies of all time and continuing Marvel’s stream of fantastic movies. However, outside the big screen, the web-crawler has starred in several great video games. While we won’t see Insomniac’s Spider-Man PS4 for months, there are other games that showcase the web-crawler at his best. Here are the top five.

5. Spider-Man (2002)

Usually, movie tie-in games range from mediocre to painfully horrible. Surprisingly Spider-Man (2002) wasn’t either and delivered a solid Spider-Man experience. Loosely-based on the 2002 movie, in the game Peter Paker attempting to grasp his new abilities while fighting a series of bosses such as the Green Goblin, Vulture, and Kraven the Hunter. As special bonus players could play as Harry Osborn wearing the Green Goblin, complete with glider and weapons, in his own story.

4. Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage

This side-scrolling beat’em up SNES game had players taking control of either Spidey or Venom, either alone or with a partner, to stop Carnage’s killing rampage. The story was told through a series of pixelated comic strips taken from the comic book with cameos from other superheroes making appearances. While the game tended to be way more on the difficult side, having the chance to play in an adventure with this unlikely alliance was any fan’s dream come true.

3. Ultimate Spider-Man (2005)

What made this game stand out was the graphics, it looked like it was ripped out of the Web-head’s comic-book. This means we got a younger Peter Parker as he attempts to uncover the secrets behind his father’s research which happened to be linked to the Venom Suit. Like Maximum Carnage the appeal was the chance to play as both Spidey and Venom, each with their own play style. Spidey would retain his nimble and fast movements to explore the city and battle enemies and Venom was slow but a powerful behemoth able to leap hundreds of feet and use tentacles to eliminate enemies. Playing as Venom is always a treat in these games.

2. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

Instead of taking control of one Web-head, in Shattered: Dimensions you were in control of four. The destruction of an ancient tablet caused the dimensions to shattered, allowing four different Spider-Men to work together to restore space and time. Each dimensional Spidey had different abilities and art styles unique to their universe, making each of them feel like their own character. Whether you were controlling Ultimate, Noir, 2099, or Amazing Spider-Man you were guaranteed a fun time with a different set of tools to use.

1. Spider-Man (2000)

If you’re a fan chances are you played this game since it came out on five platforms. Spider-Man (2000) was the first time Spidey leaped into the 3D realm and it was fantastic. Diverse locations, excellent boss fights, and a well-written story to tie everything together. Additions such as the original voice-cast from the 1994 animated series, Stan Lee narrating specific scenes, and unlockable costumes with unique abilities were icing on the cake for an already amazing game.
