5. Nezuko’s transformation (Episode 1)
The opening footage already demonstrates to the viewer the true value of the relationship between Nezuko and Tanjiro, even before we even have any chance to learn a little more about the characters. It doesn’t take long before the show’s creators reveal a key detail – Nezuko has lost her humanity, but not her brother’s love.
4. The fate of Sabito and Makomo (Episode 4)
It is Sabito and Makomo who have a huge impact on Tanjiro and his training, clearly conveying to him everything that he has to learn. But when the narrative reveals the tragic story of the characters and the fact that they have long been dead, the viewer, instead of with Tandizro, finally comes to understand how high the stakes are in his attempt to take revenge on the offenders.
3. Tanjiro and Muzan’s first meeting (Episode 7)
The first encounter with the antagonist is traditionally one of the key moments of such stories. But the seventh episode turns everything upside down not only for the audience, but also for Tanjiro himself, when he finds his opponent in the company of an ordinary child who has parental love for Muzan. However, even such a suddenly touching scene suddenly turns into another brutal massacre.
2. Rui’s Past (Episode 21)
Rui’s brutal and frightening image almost never cracks throughout her screen time, but the latest flashback reveals a significant part of the character’s origins, recalling a difficult and painfully tragic fate. Ultimately, the realization of Muzan’s evil inflicted on Rui falls even on Tanjiro himself.

The ending theme can hardly be called “stage“in the traditional sense of the word, but even such insignificant passages from the past of the Kamado family act as a very powerful contrast to the main narrative, once again reminding viewers of the life that Tanjiro and Nezuko lost on that fateful day.
