Top 10 most unsuccessful passwords of 2019 – review

The security of user accounts has been and remains one of the challenges for many companies. Often people are too lazy to come up with long and complex passwords, ignoring the fact that they are harder to pick up.

According to Devicelock, over the past 2019 several major leaks occurred, due to which about 25 million login / password pairs got into the network. In total, experts, starting in 2017, analyzed 29.5 billion passwords (including non-unique). And it turned out that people often use very simple combinations that have long been discredited.

The ten most popular passwords in recent years look like this:

  • 123456
  • 123456789
  • qwerty
  • 12345
  • password
  • 12345678
  • qwerty123
  • 1q2w3e
  • 111111
  • 1234567890

And here is the most popular ten for 2019:

Overall, the security situation remains tense. Users habitually set simple passwords and often do not change them, and also use the same password for different accounts. And given the fact that not all laptops and computers are equipped with fingerprint scanners, this worsens the already difficult security situation.

For our part, we remind you – use complex passwords with a length of at least eight characters, and for different accounts they should be different if possible.
