Shin Megami Tensei V events will unfold in parallel in two worlds at once – modern Tokyo and the otherworldly Da’ate. According to the plot, the main character, an ordinary Japanese schoolboy, suddenly finds himself in a place unfamiliar to him, teeming with mysterious creatures and monsters – this world is known as Da’at. Soon, the protagonist encounters a mysterious man named Aogami. This fateful meeting gives rise to an unusual process – the schoolboy and Aogami literally merge into a single entity, the powerful Nakhobino, capable of commanding demons.
At the same time, the protagonist is far from the only person who got into Da’at. Together with the hero, his close friends and classmates, including Yuzuru Atsuta, Ichiro Dazai and a girl named Tao Isonokami, turned out to be in an alternative reality. At the same time, the latter is not at all a victim of circumstances, but a member of the mysterious Bethel organization, which is engaged in the fight against demons and is right now trying to save Tokyo from an invasion from Da’at.
In an attempt to save their home, the protagonist, Yuzuru and Ichiro themselves join Bethel, where they meet its serious and balanced leader Hayao Kosimizu, who, among other things, also acts as the current Prime Minister of Japan.

More than 200 types of demons will appear in Shin Megami Tensei V. Many of them are classic members of the series, but there are also quite a few newcomers, including Hayataru and Manananggal.
