Resource Specialists Notebookcheck accidentally discovered a fun feature in Macbook air 2023 year. As it turned out, in the native operating system, the screen brightness was 415 nits, while under Windows 10 this figure was 547 nits. This was revealed during testing, when two systems were installed in parallel with Bootcamp.
However, other indicators are almost the same. In Windows, the value of black color and color reproduction are slightly worse, but the difference is not so great. In any case, this cannot be seen with the naked eye.
It is not yet clear why this was done. After all, the MacBook Air screen can achieve much higher brightness levels than macOS produces. It is possible that this is a software limitation designed to maintain the distance between this laptop and the more expensive MacBook Pro 13.
Also, do not rule out the possibility that the brightness was limited in order to extend the battery life, but only testing will prove the truth of this assumption.
