At the same time, Abandoned has a unique mechanic, when all the player’s actions somehow affect the character. If the protagonist Jason is out of breath, he will lose sight. If he gets overly frightened, then this will also affect the process of passing.

In achieving all these goals, the authors were helped by the newest motion capture technologies, which they are engaged in themselves. When Kahraman was asked about participating in the project Hideo Kojima, the author of the game answered in the negative:

Kahraman added that Kojima’s recent posts where users saw a connection to Abandoned were coincidental. But after that, he confused the testimony again, adding that Kojima tried to help them cope with the Internet frenzy about theories, but “outside of this they did not work.”

The author also admitted that the experiment with the application for the trailer, where the old video was shown after the update, was not very good:

This is a really big disaster. People are really disappointed.

The authors were forced to release old footage, as they prioritized the release of a patch for the application. But everyone understood that this was not the best idea.

The main problem with the delays in the release were some technical problems, possibly related to Unreal Engine 5. In any case, later the authors will show more content.

The next release will be a cinematic trailer, which will be released “very soon”. They would like to release him on gamescom 2023, but not the fact that the authors will be in time for the exhibition. Shortly after the release of the trailer, there will be a prologue that can be played.

Kahraman added that the authors should also not have released a frame of a person with an eye patch, in which everyone suspected Snake from Metal Gear:

I must admit that this was a big mistake. But there is no point in changing it now, because it’s too late.

According to NME, the villain of the game was presented in the frame, although details about his person were not revealed. It is only known that he will have some kind of supernatural ability.

Finally, the author added that the developers do not want to show their faces, because they want to avoid accusations of fraud and the like. And Kahraman himself is allegedly very depressed by the whole situation.

The release of Abandoned is due in 2023.
