Polish studio CD Projekt reportedthat the company’s lawyers informed the creators Cyberpunk 2077 about a second class action lawsuit related to the problematic release of an action RPG last December. The new appeal was filed with the California Central District Court in the United States.
The Poles said that the new lawsuit against the company presents the same claims as in first… Plaintiffs allege that CD Projekt violated federal laws for misleading investors about the quality of Cyberpunk 2077. As a result of these actions, the latter suffered losses. However, none of the complaints indicated any amount of compensation.
“The company will take decisive action to defend itself against any such claims,” CD Projekt reiterated.
Released in December 2023, the highly anticipated RPG on release noted many technical bugs and poor performance on previous generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles. The result was not rosy – for the players offered issue a refund, and the PS4 version even removed from the PlayStation Store.
Last week co-founder and CEO of CD Projekt Marcin Iwinski made a public apology for the problematic launch of Cyberpunk 2077. He promised that the company will not stop improving the game. The developers have already presented a roadmap for development, which includes a series of patches, free DLC and a free upgrade to the nextgen version of the game.
Some major US retailers already selling Cyberpunk 2077 with a 50% discount, while only a month has passed since the game was released.
