Character creation in Dreams is dedicated to many different settings and tools, but we will not list all of them. You can choose from several ready-made dolls, as well as an empty template for creating your character from scratch. In pre-prepared versions, there is a set of recorded movements and some physical properties, such as the height of the jump and the amplitude of the range of limbs. If you design a doll from scratch, you will have to manually animate each movement, specify all the properties and other features. This is a long and rigorous process, however if you need to achieve the unique behavior of your hero, then this is possible.

After you have finished creating your location and adding your characters to it, you can start arranging additional lighting, as well as adjusting camera settings. The principle of operation of these tools will be familiar to fans of LBP, however, there are much more nuances and options for setting various parameters.

Having studied the possibilities of “Dreams”, it becomes clear why the game spent so much time in development. This project really can be called a full-fledged engine for creating games or cartoons, which was adapted for people who do not have programming skills, and conveniently adapted the control for a gamepad and PS Move. It is also surprising that Dreams costs only 2599 rubles.

As for the graphics and the technical side, the “Dreams” do not raise any questions. Everything works without any glitches and complaints. Dreams does not slow down either in the editor or in user levels, which I managed to try out. The style of the levels prepared by the developers and demonstrations resembles animated paintings. However, doing your job in the same vein is not necessary.

Of course, it is difficult to achieve ultra-realism, but in general, you can implement a different approach to design.
