The Wonderful 101 from the creators of Bayonetta again failed in the Japanese charts – now on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

Action remaster The Wonderful 101 for Playstation 4 and Nintendo switchdebuted in Japan on June 11, did not hit the national gaming chart of sales of games on physical media. This is evidenced by recent statistics Famitsu.

Unlike the United States and Europe, where The Wonderful 101 Remastered first appeared in digital format, Japanese console players received the project simultaneously both in the PlayStation Store and eShop, as well as on discs and cartridges.

On the last place of the last week’s sales chart, the thirtieth, is the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, which sold 1.392 copies. Each of the two versions of The Wonderful 101 Remastered, respectively, was sold in smaller quantities – together they started even worse than the original for Wii U, which in 2013 was recognized a failure in sales of 6.663 copies according to Famitsu and 5.258 copies according to Media Create for the first week.

It is worth noting that part of the hardcore audience paid for their copies of The Wonderful 101 remaster as part of a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter, but such players around the world gathered only about 33 thousand people.

With the official release of The Wonderful 101, Remastered did not hit any of the charts. For example, on Steam, the number of users playing it at one time stopped at around 236 people, and only 145 reviews for the whole month. For comparison, the PC version of Persona 4 Golden has more than 10 thousand reviews in just a few days.

PlatinumGames Studio, which previously spoke about the belief in the undisclosed commercial potential of The Wonderful 101 and the desire to give the action a second chance, has not yet commented on the sales of its project.

According to the results of the reporting week, the first ten lines of the Japanese chart took games for Nintendo Switch with Animal Crossing: New Horizons in charge of. Total sales of the latter in retail are approaching the mark of 5 million copies.

In 11th place is a budget reprint The Last of Us: Remastered for Playstation 4 – like western gamers, Japanese are preparing for the premiere The Last of Us: Part II.
