According to Deborah Snyder, her husband’s heart would break if he saw the theatrical version of the film. And against the background of her daughter’s suicide, this could have dire consequences. The director himself said that this tragedy was the main reason for which he left the “League”, and later – the reason for which he returned back, devoting the project to his child.

When Snyder first began work on the film, the studio attributed to him Jeff Jones and John Burg as “caretakers” who made suggestions for the film. In particular, they dealt with humor and other similar moments. They did not frighten Snyder himself, since their ideas were not somehow radical.

But the studio still refused to support some things. So, Snyder wanted to include in the film a romantic line between Lois Lane and Bruce Wayne after death Superman… According to the author, this would add a new complex internal conflict to Batman, as he needed to bring the hero back to life.

After Joss Whedon finished his version of the film, it was shown in the studio. One of the WB representatives anonymously said that everyone in the firm realized that they had a failure in their hands. They didn’t like the first scene of the robbery on the roof, the plot with the family at the end of the tape, and so on.

Everyone knew that. It was extremely embarrassing as no one wanted to admit how much of a sh * t it was.

After Snyder got the opportunity to finish his film, the studio initially asked him to just release a rough cut – no music or effects. The director refused, as he strongly doubted the noble intentions of the studio.

As a result, the WB had to make concessions to the director, giving him complete freedom of vision. And although the budget for the new version was somewhere around $ 70 million, Snyder himself will not receive a dime for this.

In addition, the article raised the issue of fans who not only supported the project, but also raised half a million dollars in a fund to fight suicide. According to Deborah, when talking about aggressive fans of Snyder, they ignore that they also “saved someone’s life.”
