The project will continue the story of the 1995 painting, which told about the future, where the Earth was almost completely submerged under water. At the same time, there are legends that somewhere there is still land suitable for life, but few people believe in this.
The series is still at an early stage of development, but it is known that the action will unfold 20 years after the events of the original and tell about the same characters. Whether Costner and the other actors will return to the roles is unknown.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Cloverfield 10), the exact date of the premiere is not yet available.
