The number and age of Russian gamers was counted – every third wants to become a streamer or an e-sportsman

A division of the National Research University Higher School of Economics Institute “Development Center” presented the study “Computer games industry-2020”. One of the largest universities in the country shared interesting statistics on the Russian and world audience of gamers.

Thanks to him, it became known that 2.5 billion people in the world play computer games. In Russia, the number of gamers exceeds 65 million. At the same time, 35.7% of them would like to make a living through gaming… Roughly speaking, every third person wants to become a professional streamer or esports player. The largest number of applicants is in India (49.2%), the USA (48.3%) and Italy (41%).

The average age of a gamer is 34 years. In Russia, according to Yandex, it slightly exceeds the global level and is 36 years old. 25% of domestic players work in the office, every tenth is a manager or leader. There are no radical gender differences among gamers in the world: 54% of players are men, and 46% are women.
