The next update for Barotrauma will be released this week – Igromania

Developers Barotrauma have shared the details of a major update to Embrace the Abyss for their co-op space survival horror submarine sim, due out this week.

First, the authors will improve the gaming experience for beginners. Players will find contextual clues, more information in the menu, an interactive large preview of the submarine, mission difficulty indicators and boss life bars.

Secondly, the update will add more storyline features to the campaign in the form of slowly advancing radiation. Players will have to build their reputation and upgrade the sub to advance into new areas of the map. However, radiation can be turned off in the settings.

Also, the developers will present a limited number of mid-round respawns for multiplayer campaigns and side quests that can be found on the campaign map.

Thirdly, the players are waiting for the monsters Charybdis and the Doom Worm, which appear only in the Abyss, which can be found below the normal level. With the release of the update, it will be easier to get into the Abyss from any level. In addition, islands with minerals will be added there.

Finally, abandoned outposts will appear in the game, which can be captured by criminals or wildlife if located near a monster hunt. New missions to clean up abandoned outposts will also be added.

More details on Embrace the Abyss can be found here. A complete list of changes will appear with the release of the update. Barotrauma is in Early Access Steam
