“The Last of Us” will be filmed for almost a year in Canada – new information about the series The Last of Us

Filming teleadaptation The last of us for HBO will start this summer in the Canadian city of Calgary and will last 11 months.

Information on this is available on the Directors Guild of Canada website. According to the data indicated there, cameras on the site of “The Last of Us” will work 5’th of July, and they plan to complete the work by June 8, 2023

The Last of Us will be the first drama-format project from PlayStation Productions, a studio created by Sony Interactive Entertainment to adapt its franchises for film and television. In February Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”) and Bella Ramsay (“Game of Thrones”) have been officially cast as Joel and Ellie.

The co-scriptwriter and executive producer of the show will be the author of “Chernobyl” Craig Mazin along with co-president of Naughty Dog Neil Druckmann… The pilot episode will be directed by a Russian director Kantemir Balagov (“Dylda”).

The series will build on the events of the original The Last of Us. There is no premiere date yet, but, apparently, the release should not be expected before the fall of next year.
