“The goal is to exceed expectations”: Square Enix talks about the creation of the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake

Before the creators of the continuation of the remake Final fantasy vii there are two key tasks: to diversify the gameplay taking into account the changing environment and not to spoil any plot moments during the adaptation of the story to the modern format. About this in an interview with the publication IGN told the project development manager Naoki Hamaguchi

Hamaguchi recalled that in the second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake, Cloud and his friends will have to leave Midgar and get to the map with various forks and points of interest. Accordingly, the developers plan to diversify the gameplay, taking into account the vastness of the world. The first part of Final Fantasy VII Remake was designed for the more compact realities of one city.

The development manager also said that Square Enix is prioritizing the careful adaptation of the classic story while introducing new episodes into the narrative. The goal of the studio is to exceed fan expectations and not spoil anything.

“We’ve learned a lot from the feedback on Final Fantasy VII Remake,” Hamaguchi noted, adding that users have generally reacted positively to reimagining various scenes.

The second part of the Final Fantasy VII remake has no release date yet. It is expected on the PlayStation 5.
