The Fugitive and the Granny

Little Nightmares is a story told in a silent way, where the flow of events is accompanied by the noises of the surrounding structure and the muffled atmosphere is broken by the heartbeats that mark the uncertain advance of the protagonist. It is precisely these moments that make the

typical childhood concerns re-emerge in the user, with an interactive approach similar to that of other works but at the same time endowed with an own expressive identity. Although we find ourselves in harmony with the artistic style used in the representation, also as regards the use of sounds, we have not failed to highlight an extremely reduced longevity. And so here it is, precisely in order to enrich the gaming experience,

the developers have decided to propose to the public the expansion package called “Secrets of the Maw”; purchased at a price of 9.99 euros, aims to increase the main path with new levels experienced from the perspective of another character trapped inside the Fauci.

In this first piece we will take care of the DLC “Le Profondità”, available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from 7th July . The second package, entitled the Nascondiglio, will be published in November, while the third and last appointment is scheduled for January 2018.

PLAYSTATION TROPHIES 4

The first Little Nightmares DLC offers only three additional Trophies, one of which is secret.

ESCAPING FROM THE BASEMENT

As we have come to realize after completing the main adventure, Six is not the only one to want to leave behind the Fauci. Parallel to its history we discover that of the Fugitive, a child intent on crossing a submerged underground in the depths of the vessel,

just as a threat looms under the surface of the water. The ignoble being deformed with which you have to deal is the Grandma, who despite the reassuring name will do everything to try to put an end to the advancing young protagonist

and will continually try to drown him without mercy. Tarsier Studios said he wanted to offer a different approach to the history of Six, but in essence the skills available to the Fugitive turn out to be almost similar to those already experienced previously.

What changes is only the basic situation on which the pursuit hinges, since in this case we find ourselves in the middle of a flooded basement and we are forced to exploit any object to remain immersed in water as little as possible . For example, it is necessary to cast

baits in the opposite direction to where you want to run, so that Granny is distracted and there is time to get safely to the next apprehension after having jumped into the water. Moreover, on more than one occasion these platforms do not constitute a safe harbor, given that

the tremendous underwater threat is able to disintegrate the wooden planks or move the heaviest objects on which you are stopping , constantly putting the Fugitive’s integrity at risk. But beyond this ploy, The Depths really add little to the main experience.

The Fugitive and Granny

Basically we are made available a single level of extension comparable to that of the other five chapters that can be used in the role of Six. We are therefore talking about a path that can easily be completed in less than an hour, considering that in the first portion of the level some previously crossed rooms are retraced backwards. The interactive experience proves overall even more

linear than we had seen in our previous game. The enigmas remain extremely basic, not to mention phone calls, while the progression is again hampered mainly by the scarce mobility of the Fugitive:having to deal with his obvious condition

of physical inferiority, in the face of the threats he faces, he will be forced to act out of cunning, trying not to be captured and exploiting the surrounding environment to his advantage. We would not be sorry to receive some more information on the

Fauci, some element that could give more consistency to our interpretations. On the contrary, no new elements are able to enrich the narrative background in a tangible way. In other words, events are experienced from the perspective of a new prisoner, but beyond the progression itself, there is not much else to analyze.
