The first tests of the Chinese processor Zhaoxin KaiXian KX-U6780A – review

Resource Tom’s Hardware tested an eight-core processor Zhaoxin KaiXian KX-U6780A on x86th architecture. This chip has recently appeared on sale, and therefore the question of its performance is very interesting.

The characteristics of the chip look like this:

  • Eight cores and eight threads
  • 2.7 GHz frequency
  • 8 MB cache
  • Support up to 64 GB of RAM DDR4-2666
  • ZX-C960 video unit with DX11 support, as well as H.264 and HEVC codecs
  • 70 W heat pack

As for performance, everything is sad here. The novelty is inferior in the “processor” tests to the seventh generation Intel i3 chips, and sometimes even much weaker ones Pentium and Athlon. In games, the situation is no better. IN Final Fantasy XV, Hitman 2, Project cars 2, World of Tanks enCore, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation and other projects, the Chinese chip is at the bottom.

Note that the novelty can already be bought at TaobaoHowever, the price of a board with a CPU is about $ 620 (almost 76 thousand rubles at the current rate).
