"The film was not called that in vain" - critics smashed "Tread of Chaos" - Igromania

Critics’ reviews of long-term construction appeared on the network “Tread of Chaos” – the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Patrick Ness, which was done by Doug Lyman (“Edge of the Future”).

The plot of the tape with Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland talks about a world where everyone can hear other people’s thoughts, which makes secrets useless. This happens until the main character meets a girl whose thoughts he cannot hear.

The film has been in production since 2017, has gone through additional reshoots and a number of transfers. Judging by critics, as in the case “New mutants”, do not the picture come out – no one would be very upset.

Now the tape has 35 points on Metacritic on 14 reviews and 22% “freshness” on Rotten tomatoes based on 36 ratings.

The most popular complaint is the failed implementation of a rather interesting idea. Judging by the reviews, this is a “boring” adaptation that is afraid to develop its own ideas and does not reach the full potential that it had.

And if we look at the picture from the position of a film adaptation, then it seemed to “rip out” some parts of the original book, turning the story into a typical teenage fiction, full of problems familiar to fans of the genre.

Some praise the work of Holland and Ridley, and also note that over time, the tape “starts to work a little better”, but overall it still leaves a negative impression.

It will be possible to check the words of critics in the Russian box office from March 25, when the film will be released in the cinema.
