The director of “Warcraft” said that he planned to show further – review

Duncan Jones, director of the fantasy film “Warcraft“, answered to some questions about the movie on Twitter. And, among other things, he said that he was never able to realize.
Rumors that the creators of Warcraft are planning a sequel appeared shortly after the premiere. Jones himself has repeatedly expressed his readiness to begin work on a sequel. But in 2018, it became clear that this would not happen.

Only now the director said that he had originally planned to shoot a trilogy dedicated to the promise of Durotan: to give the orcs a new home.

As planned in the second film, the young Go’el-Thrall is a slave in the camp of the gladiators Edalas Blackmoore, who runs the Darnhold Fortress. Here he meets a new friend, tauren, and he tells that he himself comes from a distant country in the West. There Thrall can find allies and, possibly, a new home.

In the third part, the Horde was to assemble an army to liberate all the orcs in the territory of the Eastern kingdoms. After that, they were waiting for a dangerous journey to Kalimdor and the foundation of the first orc city in Azeroth – Ogrimmar.

Warcraft failed at its box office, with a budget of $ 160 million, American cinemas managed to raise only 47 million. Another one and a half million brought the sale of costumes and props from the shoot.
Reviewers defeated the film: he received 32 points according to version Metacritic. But the picture turned out to be popular abroad, especially in China, and thanks to this, Worldcraft’s worldwide fees exceeded 439 million.
