One of the aspects of the new games that was criticized by fans was the legendary hidden blade. Over the years, it has performed one simple function – it allows you to instantly eliminate your target in a noiseless manner. However Assassin’s creed origins somewhat violated this tradition, as a result of which the Assassins’ cult weapons did not always do their job: if the enemy was several levels higher than yours, then an instant hidden assassination simply did not work. Some users easily accepted “new game rules“, others were very disappointed. However, it seems that in the case of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the authors listened to dissatisfied reviews, and we are waiting for a partial return to the roots.
Commented on the situation Ashraf Ismail, creative director Assassin’s creed valhallawho said that the new product should give the players not only new bright impressions, but also remind them of how it all began.
“We wanted to look back into the past, adopt the outstanding aspects of the previous parts and at the same time recall what are the strengths of modern games in the series. There are certain feelings of identity and uniqueness that we wanted to return to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla,” Ashraf Ismail explains.
Such a statement may seem a little strange to many, especially given the setting, the central characters and the debut trailer. Still, it’s somewhat hard to imagine a formidable Viking who will act as a secretive hired killer. But, according to Ismail, directly in the game itself, all this will look as natural as possible, which the developers took care in advance.
“Ivor gets the hidden blade quickly enough. Our hero is not a well-trained assassin at all. Ivor is just a Viking who now has access to these unusual weapons and will have to learn to wield it literally on the go. moment he will learn the technique that allows him to virtually eliminate any target with one attack … under one condition“, the game designer develops.
