The creators of Serious Sam 4 explained why they “dressed” harpies – review

Still all that Devolver digital and Croteam showed on the future shooter Serious Sam 4, pleased fans of the series. However, they also had a reason to make claims to the new part.

Indication of a covered bust of demonic creatures caused a real storm of six hundred comments. The creators were accused of talking about moral phages and bigots, and in the game for the 18+ category, full of violence, it is strange to see censorship.

In the end, Daniel Lucic, one of the developers of Serious Sam 4, reacted to the discussion.

The project was changed because it was changed. There is no conspiracy theories here. Naked breasts contributed nothing to the game. And, creating a new model, our designers tried to maximize their vision – with or without a bust.

After all, it’s better to admire the mammary glands in a different place than in games.

Croteam

Since the first attempt at clarification only added fuel to the fire, the Croteam representative had to explain his point in more detail.

Where did I say it was censorship?

I said that it was a design decision that had nothing to do with showing or not showing breasts. I think that the character artist felt that it would be better. The harpies did not have a naked bust even in concepts.

I understand that someone cares about such things, but design changes are ongoing.
