The classic comeback on the Xbox Series X? – Phil Spencer commented on the debut project of the ambitious studio The Initiative

In 2018 there were announced, what Microsoft formed an ambitious studio The initiativeled by Darrell Halaharformer head Crystal dynamics. Since then, there has been almost no news from this development team (we just heard that specialists who had a hand in God of war, Red dead redemption and other top games), however recently I recalled a young team myself Phil Spencer. Moreover, the chapter Xbox hinted that The Initiative might work to revive some classic game or series from the past. In any case, such a conclusion from his message was made by fans.

“Today we had a productive time with Darrell Kalahar, Matt Butie and The Initiative. This is an incredibly talented studio that works tirelessly to create something new (and not only :-)), working very modern,” writes Phil Spencer

In this message, the fans noticed a direct hint that The Initiative could be preparing a remake or restarting some title from the past. So, many immediately remembered the franchise Perfect darkothers came to mind Phantom dust, the revival of which Microsoft announced back in 2014. But there was no restart, and only a remaster of the first part appeared.

Players also recalled an 2018 Phil Spencer interview in which he said that Darrell Halahar, who successfully restarted Tomb raider in 2013, loves the Xbox and is interested in the past of the brand and Microsoft-owned studios.

No further information was received from Spencer, so now we can only expect a formal announcement of the debut project The Initiative. It should be held in 2023.
