Studio Frogwares released a new series of answers to some of the players’ questions about the upcoming detective Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One… This time it was about John, a friend of Holmes, and other familiar characters from the series, a possible sequel and additions, research and more.
First of all, perhaps the most important thing – at the moment the developers have no plans for a direct continuation, and “Chapter 1” in the title of the game only says that this is Holmes’s formation, the beginning of his vigorous activity. As for the add-ons, both paid and free DLCs are planned.
In addition, we were talking about characters: yes, some familiar heroes will appear in Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, but the developers do not disclose which ones. And no, the game will not have an acquaintance with Wutston. The focus will be on Sherlock’s development and his relationship with John, a friend they “met” in London when they were 8 years old.
Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will be based on the exploration and study of the surrounding world: for example, you can learn something about the characters you meet and draw conclusions – sometimes wrong, the game will allow us to make mistakes. And face the consequences.
Also, as you know, it will be possible to fight in a detective story – but only when it is necessary for the plot. They won’t be allowed to beat people on the street just like that. And certain results of fights can affect the relationship with John. As for the cars – no, Sherlock will not be a driver in this game.
The game will be released within a year on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC. Perhaps in the future, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will be released on Sradia and Switch, but the developers are not yet ready to confirm this.
