The authors of Halo Infinite about dissatisfaction with the graphics of the shooter – review addiction

Command 343 Industries in the latest publication on the site Halo waypoint commented on “The Elephant in the Room” – a graphic that the Internet has been discussing for more than a week.

The developers even managed to get acquainted with two videos Digital foundrywhere lighting was blamed for a similar level of visual presentation. The method chosen by the authors of the shooter works if there is a light source in the frame, but if there is no light source, the game cannot correctly display shadows and other elements.

In their address, the team focused on the fact that after Halo 4, Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2 it was decided to move away from realism in favor of the classic style of the original parts Bungie… Thanks to this, the palette has become brighter, and the models are “cleaner” – without unnecessary “noise”. This will not be changed.

However, the graphics themselves, including “flat and simple lighting” and objects that load in the frame, are still planning to improve for the final release. There is still a lot of work ahead, and there are several months before release. Based on the feedback, the developers are already implementing certain improvements.

Now 343 Industries does not have answers to all questions regarding the upcoming innovations, but the team is trying to outline its plans and in the near future tell about them in detail and clearly.

In addition, in the blog, the developers announced that large-scale multiplayer testing before release may not take place – the team cannot conduct the beta at the proper level when working from home.

What else did the blog say?

  • In the campaign, the split-screen will support 2 players, and over the network – up to 4;
  • The shooter will run in 4K at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X. Technical details for Xbox One and Xbox One X have not been disclosed;
  • Difficulty levels: easy, normal, heroic and legendary;
  • There will be no real money loot boxes in the game.

According to rumors, by the way, the online mode of Halo Infinite will be shareware, and on Xbox Series X it will be possible to run it at 120 frames per second. The game will be released later this year on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
