Edition IGN published a fresh video from the series Developers React to Speedrun, in which developers from the studio Airship syndicate showed speed passage Darksiders genesis in 42 minutes and 30 seconds (current world record).
The creative director of the game was Joe Madureira, an artist and author of the original Darksiders, who, along with other members of the Airship Syndicate team, watched the speed passage and commented on what was happening on the screen.
The author of speedran was the player under the nickname wschseng, who mainly used Discord. Most of the levels the speedrunner managed to complete in just a few minutes. To do this, he used various tricks that allowed him to fly outside the locations.
The only thing wschseng could not miss during its fast-paced passage is boss battles. However, even there the player made his life easier. More often than not, the speedrunner simply found himself out of range of the enemy and calmly shot him from a distance.
Recall that Darksiders Genesis is a role-playing adventure thriller, which takes place before the events of the original Darksiders. Players have to take on the role of War and Discord to stop Lucifer. The game is available on PC, Stadia, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
