As the creators of Hard Reset and the Shadow Warrior series explained, they were inspired not by classic slashers, but by a shooter Helldivers… However, they decided to add spectacular battles with melee weapons to the formula of the top-down shooter, as in Diablo and Path of exile…
Space Punks relies on four main aspects: the strength of armor with an abundance of options for powerful weapons, a co-op for four players, a lot of jokes and an unusual cast of characters. We have to deal not with heroes, but with those other subjects: losers, pirates, villains.
Duke wants to become famous and rich, but he needs love even more. He will never leave his friends to die. And to protect them, he will use gologranates, create his own projection and spread an aura that will allow his comrades to inflict even more damage.
Anthropomorphic boar Finn is a thoroughbred tank. He showered enemies with rocket rain and attracted opponents with “pig magnetism”, while protecting the squad with “berserk blessing”.
Eris, the only lady on the team, is tech-savvy. She uses “blades of nanobots” against enemies and has an area attack. When needed, Eris summons machines that momentarily stun opponents, making them vulnerable to team attacks.
Finally, tech expert Bob is able to map watchtowers and mines on the map. He also calls in drones for air support.
The skills of the four non-heroes combine and strengthen each other, they can be linked into powerful combos. These are not the only characters, more will appear over time, but testing of the early build will take place with their help.
Space Punks players will need a permanent internet connection. The in-game store will only have cosmetics. The crafting system uses blueprints that determine the type of weapon, components that affect statistics, and modifiers for special characteristics.
To create or buy equipment for ourselves, as well as choose missions, at the same time choosing the level of their difficulty, we will be at the Devil’s Gambit space station, it plays the role of a hub.
