Thanks to Monster Hunter: World, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5: Capcom Profit Continues to Grow

Company Capcom reported a decrease in annual sales as part of its latest financial report, but noted an increase in profits. This is reported by the publication Gamasutra.

The publisher of the Monster Hunter series of games said that the past fiscal period was the seventh consecutive year of operating profit growth and the third consecutive year with record high profit.

Sales of games during the fiscal year ending March 31 brought the company nearly 82 billion yen ($ 770 million). This figure was 18% less than that which was shown the year before. At the same time, operating profit grew by 26%, to a value of 23 billion yen (215.6 million US dollars).

Capcom associates the increase in profits with digital sales of high-margin games, including Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Resident evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5. Also, the company’s expectations exceeded the new pachinko slot machines by Shin Onimusha.

Between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2023, Capcom expects to receive sales of 85 billion yen (about 800 million US dollars) and operating profit in the region of 26 billion yen (about 244 million US dollars).
