Team Fortress 2 fans took on the transfer of the game to the Source 2 engine – Igromania

Enthusiasts from Amper Software took up the transfer of a network shooter Team Fortress 2, released almost 14 years ago, on the engine Source 2… The team already consists of over 20 developers – from programmers and artists to level designers and animators.

The developers plan not only to transfer all classes, weapons, maps and assets of Team Fortress 2 to the more modern Source 2 with improved graphics and a new physics engine, but also to make improvements.

Development is carried out with the help s & box, spiritual heir Garry’s Modwhich provides users with the tools to create anything in the Source 2 engine.

Enthusiasts have already talked about the first stages of development. For example, they point out that they want to add the ability to create their own classes or weapons.

For this, s & box has a special tool that will allow you to set different properties for new classes or weapons. On the Source engine, this had to be done directly in the game code.

Team Fortress: Source 2 has no release date yet.
