Sudden announcement at CES 2019 – Sony unveils its own Vision-S electric concept car

As part of the exhibition CES 2019 company Sony introduced its own electric concept car Sony Vision-S. As part of this project, the Japanese tech conglomerate is striving to showcase its growing ambitions in a wide range of business areas.

It is reported that in total Vision-S is equipped with 33 different sensors both inside and outside, several widescreen screens, as well as an audio system with surround sound support and constant online connection.

Various partners have contributed to the production of individual parts of the Sony car, including companies such as Blackberry and Bosh. It is noted that the Canadian manufacturer of auto parts Magna is responsible for creating the electric vehicle platform.

“This prototype is a reflection of the mobility of the future,” concluded Kenichiro Yoshida, Sony’s current president.

It is not yet clear whether Sony itself plans to produce cars in the future, or if it simply uses a prototype in order to sell various smart components to third-party car manufacturers.

An official press release said the prototype is designed to give users an “idea of ​​Sony’s future concepts.”
