StarCraft, Portal, Call of Duty and 9 more games can enter the Video Game Hall of Fame – review addiction

New York National Museum “Strong(The Strong National Museum) has announced 12 nominees to enter the local Video Game Hall of Fame this year.

The museum’s themed Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing individual games for all platforms, be they arcades, consoles, computers or smartphones. There are two main rules – they must be popular and influence the industry itself or pop culture.

There are many familiar faces among the nominees this year:

  • Animal crossing
  • Call of duty
  • Farmville
  • FIFA
  • Guitar Hero
  • Mattel football
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Pole Position
  • Portal
  • Starcraft
  • Tron
  • Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?

Animal crossing was nominated for creating and popularizing a unique game that suits both casual and hardcore players. Whereas Call of duty hit for exciting story campaigns and endlessly fun multiplayer that people keep coming back to.

FIFA – just for huge sales, and Portal – for an unexpected hit that combines comedy, puzzle and interesting story. More information about this year’s finalists can be found on the museum’s website. The winners will be announced on May 6.
Prior to that, Bejeweled, DOOM (1993), Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto III, Halo: Combat Evolved, The Legend of Zelda, Mortal Kombat, and The Sims were inducted into the Video Game Hall of Fame.
