Star Wars: Battlefront II star Janina Gavankar will play a key role in the film based on Bordelrands

Janina Gavankar, who played Eden Versio in Star Wars: Battlefront II and one of the heroines of The Frozen Wilds expansion for Horizon: Zero Dawn, joined the cast of the film based on Borderlands

The actress has joined a long list of other confirmed cast members, including Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), Jamie Lee Curtis (Patricia Tannis), Jack Black (Iron Man), Hayley Bennett, Edgar Ramirez (Atlas), Ariana Greenblatt (Tiny Tina) and Florian Munteanu (Krieg). Havankar will play the role Commander Knox – daughter of General Knox and a member of the private army of Atlas “Crimson Spear”… The heroine was absent in the original games, but will become one of the key characters in the film adaptation.

At the same time, the film itself, as previously reported, will take place in a separate universe from the games and will tell about how Lilith gathers a squad and goes to Pandora to save the missing daughter of Atlas.

The script was written Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”), and is directed by Eli Roth (“The Mystery of the House with a Clock”). Filming has already started, but the release date has not yet been announced.
