Skype for desktop goes down in history – review

Microsoft reported that it combines Skype for Windows 10 and Skype for the desktop in one system. This will allow the company not to spray on the development of different versions and accelerate updates.

Starting in June 2023, Skype for Windows 10 and Skype for the desktop are becoming one, so we can ensure consistent development. This allows us to provide the latest updates and improvements no matter where the application is installed from.

Skype support

The new application will be called Skype for Windows 10. At the moment, it has added a number of improvements that relate to both work and display. Among the interesting features, we note the file sharing function directly from Explorer, video chats for up to nine people, changing the background, and so on.

At the same time, the chat messaging using the “Share” button was removed from the application, as well as the synchronization of the contact list with Outlook. Perhaps in the future they will be returned.
