At ResetEra, they noticed that over the past few days, several exclusives Playstation 4 received new patches. This happened a month before the release of PlayStation 5, and some games have not been updated in years before.…
Among the updated projects were God of war, God of War III: Remastered, PlayStation VR Worlds, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, Everybody’s Golf VR and Marvel’s Spider-Man… The patch notes only refer to general bug fixes. It is also interesting that the updates were not released randomly, but in groups… All three VR games were updated at the same time, as did both parts of God of War, for which the patches were also released at the same time.
Users speculate that the new updates are intended to prepare games for backward compatibility with the PlayStation 5. It is already known that select PS4 titles will support some of the new PS5 UI features that Sony revealed the other day. Perhaps updates were required for this…
The PlayStation 5 will launch on November 19th. At release, the console will support over 99% of PS4 games.
