SEGA may release remasters of Binary Domain and two Yakuza spin-offs

Producer of the franchise Yakuza Daisuke Sato interested in creating a remaster of the cult game Binary Domain… He stated this in an interview with the French portal GameBlog

Publisher SEGA released Binary Domain in 2012, was responsible for the development of the project Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, which is responsible for the series Yakuza… This is a tactical shooter with RPG elements set in a cyberpunk setting. Unfortunately, the game failed miserably in sales, although many gamers liked it.

As Sato noted, the studio is not afraid to go beyond the jRPG genre, and Binary Domain is proof of that. He is ready to release an updated version of the tactical shooter, additionally reworking some elements. However, the decision should be made by the management of SEGA.

Sato also commented on the possibility of releasing Yakuza spin-offs in the West, which are called Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! and Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! These games are set in the 17th and 18th centuries in Japan.

The developer has long wanted to do this, but after Yakuza 0 the team focused on remastered games from the main lineup. However, success Ghost of tsushima from Sucker punch Productions has sparked a surge in interest in the samurai setting among Western gamers. This plays into the hands of SEGA.
